Lockheed Martin's Camden facility will take part in a $124 million contract to supply an air defense system.

Lockheed Martin’s Camden plant will share the work in a $124 million contract from the Pentagon.

The corporation’s Missiles and Fire Control Division in Dallas was awarded the fixed-price contract on Thursday for the manufacturing and delivery of U. S. government Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) ground components.

The contract provides for the delivery of U.S. government THAAD launchers, peculiar support equipment, THAAD fire control and communication spares, and launcher spares.

In addition to Camden, work will be performed at Dallas and Lufkin, TX, Huntsville, AL and Sunnyvale, CA.

The expected completion date is Aug. 7, 2017. Fiscal 2014 procurement funds are being obligated at time of award. The contract was a sole-source acquisition and one offer was received. The Missile Defense Agency, Huntsville, Alabama, is the contracting activity.
