A Taylor driver was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on Arkansas 160 in Lafayette County.
According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, Robert Shane Hodges, 41, was driving a 2008 model Chevrolet pick-up truck west near the Lake Erling Volunteer Fire Department, on the south side of Lake Erling. The truck veered off the eastbound shoulder and struck a tree.
Hodges died at the scene.
The wreck happened about 2:26 p.m. The weather was clear and the road was dry.
Trooper David Fielding investigated the accident for the Arkansas State Police.
The victim was employed by Weyerhaeuser’s Emerson mill.
Mr. Hodges is survived by two daughters, Ruby Inez Hodges and Paige Beshea; his mother, Deborah Lynn Hodges of Sarepta, LA; one brother, Jason Hodges; one sister, Nickey Orr and husband Patrick; two nephews, Jordan Orr and Eli Hodges; and two nieces, Marley Orr and Zoey Hodges.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Springhill, LA. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Larry Earhart officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Farmerville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
The body was released to Bailey Funeral Home of Springhill, LA.
