Oil well

Oil wells are being drilled in Nevada County.

Four new drilling permits have been issued in South Arkansas during the past two weeks by the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission – all to Weiser-Brown Operating Company of Magnolia.

Drilling Permits

The four permits to Weiser-Brown Operating Company of Magnolia include three in Nevada County. A fifth permit is for the re-entry of a Nevada County well by the company. A renewal permit was also issued to a company for a well in Union County.

Weiser-Brown is the operator for the following Nevada County wells:

WSW No. 1, 5 feet FSL and 2,881 feet WSL, proposed bottom hole location 111 feet FSL and 2,673 feet FWL, in Section 19-14S-21W in the Willisville Southwest Field. Mike Rogers Drilling is the contractor. True vertical depth is 5,300 feet with measured depth of 5,600 feet in the Smackover Zone. Work began August 8.

HK No. 1, 1,325 feet FNL and 2,378 feet FWL in Section 14-14S-22W in a wildcat location. BLB Drilling Company is the contractor. Measured depth is to 2,650 feet in the Kilpatrick Lime. Work started August 8.

Pierce No. 1, 1,780 feet FWL and 1,307 feet FNL, proposed bottom hole location 1,574 feet FWL and 1,115 feet FNL in Section 10-16S-23W in a wildcat location in Lafayette County. True vertical depth is 3,300 feet with measured depth of 3,400 feet in the Tokio Zone. Work began August 8.Mike Rogers Drilling Company is the contractor. Work started August 8.

Mill Creek No. 1, 1,874 feet FEL and 2,277 feet FSL in Section 4-15S-22W in the Mill Creek Field of Nevada County. BLB Drilling is the contractor. Total depth is to 2,250 feet in the Blossom Zone. Work began August 6.

Weiser-Brown Operating is the operator and Timberland Well Service is the contractor for the re-entry of the RBL Lula Justice No. 2, 200 feet FNL and 338 feet FWL in Section 9-15S-22W in the Falcon Field of Nevada County. Total depth is to 2,250 feet in the Blossom Zone. Work began August 6.

James Langley Operating Company of Smackover is the operator and Sewell Drilling is the contractor for the renewal of the J. Neely No. 1, 1,457 feet FSL and 1,214 feet FWL in Section 23-15S-16W in the Smackover Field of Ouachita County. Measured depth is to 3,500 feet in the Travis Peak. Work will start August 26.

Well Completions

Betsy Production Company of Magnolia has completed the R. Woodward No. 2, 1,820 feet FNL and 1,650 feet FEL in Section 12-16S-19W in the Sloan Creek Field of Columbia County. Total depth was to 6,670 feet in the Smackover Line with perforations between 6,506 and 6,510 feet. Daily production is 31 barrels of 35-gravity oil. Work was finished August 7.

Cenco, Inc. of El Dorado has completed the Savage No. 1, 671 feet FSL and 1,017 feet FWL in Section 4-17S-5W in the wildcat field in Ashley County. Total depth was to 5,025 feet. No production was noted. Work was finished July 5.

Berg, Laney & Brown Company of Camden has completed the Smith “B” No. 1, 100 feet FSL and 1,054 feet FEL in Section 13-16S-16W in the Smackover Field of Union County. Total depth was to 2,217 feet in the Nacatoch Zone with perforations between 2,066.5 and 2,070.5 feet. Daily production is 1.5 barrels. Work was finished July 10.

Recompletions

Arklatx Operating Company of Smackover has recompleted two wells, both in the Smackover Field of Ouachita County.

The Smackover (985) Unit A-7-4 is in Section 22-15S-15W. It was drilled to 1,940 feet in the Nacatoch Zone with perforations between 1,926 and 1,931 feet. Daily production was 4 barrels. Work was finished June 21.

The Smackover (985) Unit 2-10 is in Section 28-15S-15W. Total depth was to 2,384 feet in the Nacatoch Zone with perforations between 1,968.5 and 1,968.77 feet. Daily production is 3 barrels. Work was finished June 27.
