Drug busts

Two people have been arrested on drug charges in Lafayette County.

Lafayette County’s K-9 unit was responsible for two drug-related arrests in the past week.

The unit conducted a traffic stop on Thursday, October 3 at Arkansas 53 and West Road. The officer obtained consent to search the vehicle. The dog located .05 grams of methamphetamine.

Jeremy Jay of Taylor was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

On Monday, the unit with assistance from another deputy made a traffic stop on Arkansas 53 at the Lake Erling Country Store. The driver, Stacey Fields, gave consent to a search. The dog sniffed out a gram of meth and a glass meth pipe.

Fields was arrested. She was booked for possession of a controlled substance and felony drug paraphernalia.
