Gown

Infant christening or baptismal gowns were once worn by both girl and boy babies. They were usually made by hand and were elaborately decorated with lace, embroidery and ruffles. The fabric used in this gown is very fine and very soft batiste. Even though it is enhanced with smocking at the neckline, we believe it must have belonged to a infant boy. It dates back to 1935.
