Although the Columbia County Library has been and remains closed to the public due to the COVID-19 emergency, staff is working on various projects.
Library staff is also presenting story time by way of its Facebook page.
The largest project is preparation for an inventory. They’re checking to make sure that material is correctly cataloged.
Staff worked with the printed shelf lists to see if the list of books in different Dewey numbers match what is actually on the shelf.
There are others who worked on large print and fiction cataloging because some of the data did not transfer correctly when it was migrated to the new catalog system.
Printed patron cards have been checked and also updated in the system so now there is more room for filing them.
The genealogy section has seen more cataloging and organization of archival materials.
