Thursday is Great American Smokeout Day.

The American Cancer Society has marked Thursday as Great American Smoke Out Day, encouraging smokers to use this day to quit using tobacco or to make a plan to quit smoking.

The Calhoun Heights Community Outreach in Magnolia is part of the effort. It is encouraging non-smokers to adopt a co-worker for a day and motivate them to quit.

Smokers will be given a crash kit to assist in making their day easier. The kits are filled with stress balls, chewing gum, and information on the Be Well Arkansas cessation services and resources to improve their health and well-being.

A drawing will be held for non-smokers and smokers for participating.

Individuals may sign-up by calling Lecricia Johnson at 870-914-2881.
