The CALL of Columbia County, a support organization for foster families, has suggested things the public can do to help during the COVID-19 emergency.
Krista Hamlin, coordinator, said in a Facebook post that foster families are serving on the front line, and support for these families is crucial during this time of isolation.
“The CALL volunteers and staff across the state are working diligently to provide for the essential needs of our families. Given school closings, daycare limitations, and food restrictions, our families need our help more than ever before,” Hamlin wrote.
People can help in these ways:
-- Purchase gift cards at local stores and drive-throughs.
-- Donate money to help The CALL buy local meals so it can provide for weekly for foster families.
