The Murphy Arts District in El Dorado has announced plans to host a Halloween-themed movie night featuring the cult classic film, “Hocus Pocus,” starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The one-night movie event will take place inside the First Financial Music Hall on at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 29 and is sponsored by the Medical Center of South Arkansas.
Attendees are encouraged to wear a costume and participate in an all-ages costume contest. Costumes will be scored as attendees enter the First Financial Music Hall with the winners announced after the movie.
Prizes will be awarded to “Best Adult Costume,” “Best Kids Costume,” and “Best Duo or Group Costume.” Doors will open at 6 p.m. with first come, first served limited seating. Admission is free and open to the community.
Much like MAD Movie Monday, Arkansas Covid-19 guidelines will apply. Masks must be worn by everyone over the age of 10. When seated, masks may be removed, but must be put back on when moving around the venue.
Rows of chairs will be positioned in “pods” to maintain social distancing between groups. Pre-packaged concessions including popcorn, candy, water and sodas will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverages will be allowed inside the venue.
