Stars Cinema 6 in El Dorado plans to reopen Monday, May 18 under guidelines to discourage the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The motion picture theater noted several requirements of patrons, and for the theater.
-- Masks must be worn when not eating or drinking.
-- Patrons must follow social distancing guidelines by maintaining 6- to 12-foot spacing between unrelated groups.
-- Seating will be limited with every other row blocked off from seating availability. Capacity is also limited to one-third normal occupancy.
-- Auditoriums will be sanitized between every showtime with industry specific anti-viral cleaner.
-- Hand sanitizer stations will be available at entry and exit.
-- All self service stations will be removed until further notice.
-- No shows will start after 8 p.m.
“We’re hopeful that following these requirements will allow us to reopen safely and responsibly,” the theater said in a statement on its Facebook page.
Motion picture companies have postponed new releases. Therefore, the motion pictures that will be shown as Stars Cinema 6 will be “throwbacks” that Stars Cinema 6 hopes the public will enjoy seeing on the big screen again.
Ticket prices have been reduced to $3 per person, all day.
Motion pictures on the upcoming schedule include:
“Lord of the Rings” (Director’s Cut) series
“Harry Potter” series
“How to Train Your Dragon”
“Heaven is for Real”
“Madea Goes to Jail”
“I Can Only Imagine”
Free summer films for children will be shown at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 2.
