School’s out, the holiday season is officially here, and everyone in Columbia County is looking for things they can safely do together during the pandemic.
The Magnolia-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Let It Glow Christmas House Decorating Contest and Tour of Lights fills the bill.
A total of 40 houses have been entered in the contest, vying for $1,000 in prizes. The general public may vote for their favorites through December 29.

Each house entered in the contest has a large yard sign with a number. People may vote for their favorite house by texting the house entry number to 870-276-7500.
Sponsoring the event with the Chamber of Commerce is the Steve and Laura Crowell family, Entergy Corporation and Story’s on the Square.
The Crowells are well known for their Christmas lights display at 411 Warnock Springs Road, which is at the intersection of Chinquepin Drive.
Lights are on at the Crowell home on the following schedule:
5:20-9:20 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
5:20-10:20 p.m. Friday through Saturday.
The Crowells are sponsoring the $500 Grand Prize, and the $250 Griswold Award. Entergy is sponsoring the $250 People’s Choice Award.
