"This year's cast for ‘James and the Giant Peach JR’ is a wonderful mixture of new and returning faces to the SAAC stage," said Cassie Hickman, music director for the production. "Each one brings their own special uniqueness to the project. It has been such a joy working with both those new to SAAC and the seasoned veterans that I've watched grow up over the years. This year, many have gone from smaller parts to main roles, including singing roles for the first time. Watching them take past limitations head on and transform them into a confident strength is priceless. They have a confidence now that will help them, not just on stage, but in all areas of their lives."

Based on one of Roald Dahl's most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's "James and the Giant Peach JR" features a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic.

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing bugs that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.
