EL DORADO -- The South Arkansas Arts Center board of directors invites the public to “The Feast of Fools,” a night of fine wines from sponsor Presqu'ile Winery, French food and desserts, and a showing of the summer musical, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

The exclusive opening night event for a limited number of guests offers the chance to see the first public performance of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” in an intimate setting.

The feast and show will take place starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 18.

Chef Lilli Ellen, chef director of the culinary arts program at South Arkansas Community College, directing the night’s cuisine.

The tables will be decorated by SAAC friends and patrons, with each table displaying a distinct personality and individual flair, inspired by the entertainment of the night.

The dinner menu will be planned and executed by Chef Lilli and a host of SAAC friends.

Wines from Presqu'ile Winery will be poured during the dinner.

The menu consists of baguette au beurre (toasted baguettes with compound butter), and salade frisée avec amandes, raisins, poire, brie, et einaigrette (frisée salad with toasted almonds, grapes, candied pear, toasted brie, and white wine dressing).

The main course will include coq au vin, (roasted chicken with vegetables in a wine sauce reduction), haricots vert (French style green beans), and the table host’s choice of potato.

Coffee and dessert will be served during intermission.

Tickets for the event are $100 per person and are all-inclusive with dinner, wines, dessert, and show ticket ($30).
