Nutcracker

Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker,” featuring the Arkansas Festival Ballet, will be performed by the South Arkansas Symphony on November 28.

The South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra announces that the 2020-2021 Season of Harmony will begin with two performances of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” on November 28, at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium, featuring the Arkansas Festival Ballet. SASO is offering a matinee and evening performance.

According to Music Director Kermit Poling, “The Nutcracker is always a favorite, and we are delighted to partner with the Arkansas Festival Ballet to bring this holiday tradition back to south Arkansas.”

The former Season of Harmony opening event Heartland, a country music performance by Canadian musicians Jeans ‘n Classics, scheduled for October, will now be held March 20, 2021. The concert features music from Miranda Lambert, Johnny Cash, Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown, and others.

In past seasons, SASO season tickets were offered; however, this year, SASO will only offer tickets per event.

Sara Coffman, executive director of SASO, said, “We felt it was not right to ask our patrons to purchase season tickets in an environment that is constantly changing. Once there is a stable process for scheduling, we will return to providing season tickets.”

To purchase “The Nutcracker” tickets, call the SASO office at 870-310-2244.
