Due to the large amount of vehicle traffic expected at Thursday night's sold out George Strait concert at the CenturyLink Center, the Bossier City Police Department is advising concertgoers and motorists to plan accordingly to help minimize traffic congestion in the area.
The last time George Strait played the CenturyLink Center in 2012 that concert was also a sell out and many people were delayed in arriving on time for the show due to heavy traffic. With that in mind, concertgoers should make plans to arrive early and are encouraged to carpool if possible.
The doors will open for the show at 6 p.m. with the concert scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Motorists not attending the show should consider using Barksdale Boulevard and avoid traveling on the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway in the vicinity of the CenturyLink Center during the early evening hours Thursday as concertgoers make their way to the show. Motorists are also advised to avoid traveling on the ART Parkway near the CenturyLink Center when the concert crowd lets out at approximately 11 p.m. due to the large number of vehicles that will be exiting the area.
Persons dropping off and picking up concertgoers are advised to utilize the circular drive in front of the CenturyLink Center's main entrance from the ART Parkway.
Multiple Bossier City police officers will be on hand to assist with traffic control.
