The Texarkana Independent School District has a goal to provide students with a nutritious variety of easily accessible food.

With an emphasis on international cuisine and locally sourced ingredients, TEXarkana Independent School District will revolutionize most parents’ understanding of the typical school lunch.

“We are committed to increasing students’ access to whole, fresh foods by embracing clean label commitments and an approach to menu development that decreases the use of processed foods and promotes the use of scratch prepared, chef created, diverse menus featuring locally sourced products,” said Director of Child Nutrition Christie Lammers.

TISD’s goal is to provide students with a nutritious variety of easily accessible food. Chief Cory House created a menu that reflects the modern tastes of today’s youth. Featured are diverse selections which will include ethnic cuisines from India, Asia, Italy, America, Thailand, France, Greece and Mexico.

Students should not be surprised to taste delectable offerings such as: Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Salsa Verde Pork Street Tacos, Korean Chicken Tacos, Creamy Street Corn, or Spring Berry Salad.
