The City of Fort Smith has announced a small increase to landfill and industrial fees with the sanitation department.

The changes are per city ordinance 69-17, which was voted in by the Fort Smith Board of directors in 2017, took effect on January 1. The ordinance called for a slight increase in fees for services within the scope of the city’s sanitation department each year from 2018-2020.

The upcoming increases in January will be the last of those scheduled.

The affected fees are as follows:

Tipping Fee:

All debris, except asbestos and separated yard waste, brought into the Fort Smith Sanitary Landfill will be $36/ton, plus applicable fees and sales tax.
